Support a survivor of SGBV

Survivors of gender-based violence suffer devastating short- and long-term consequences to their physical and mental health. Women and girls often experience severe physical injuries, unwanted pregnancies and exposure to HIV or other sexually transmitted infections, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the limited ability to complete daily tasks. We facilitate recovery of survivors of SGBV by connecting them to medical, legal & psychosocial support as well as providing safe homes for them. Support the recovery of an SGBV survivor.

Buy 300 sewing machines for 600 teenage mothers in 3 districts

For most marginalised girls, young mothers and those living with disabilities, the barriers to earning a decent living expose them to several risks. Often facing stigma from their families and local community, these groups struggle to have their needs and rights recognised and realised. We are working to support these girls to overcome these challenges, by improving access to employment opportunities and fostering economic empowerment through skills training. This enables them to take charge of their lives.

Support menstrual hygiene supplies for 3000 marginalized girls

The impacts of COVID-19 have reinforced the challenges associated with menstruation, as crucial WASH resources are diverted to cope with the pandemic, further intensifying existing inequalities for women, girls. In Uganda, as with many other countries around the world, Covid-19 has resulted in an increased rate of teenage pregnancy. In order to gain basic necessities like sanitary towels, girls have engaged in transactional sex with men who take advantage of their need for money. Support girls to access menstrual hygiene supplies.
