ABOUT ANCHORING COMMUNITIES - UGANDA

Anchoring Communities Uganda (ACU) focuses on empowering communities to ensure Gender and Health Equity. We do this through Gender Transformative Approaches, Sexual Reproductive Health/HIV & Livelihoods programming. We stem inspiration from an ANCHOR which in the absence of a captain secures a vessel to the bed of a water body and prevents it from drifting due to wind or current. Individuals and communities are constantly faced with "storms" that consequently negatively impact their health, social, and economic wellbeing. Empowering communities to identify solutions to these challenges forms the anchor.
